How Online Casino Bonuses Work

Bonuses are offered to customers as incentive to join the casinos, so that they become loyal to a particular site and keep playing there. Since online gaming is a relatively new, a cash bonus is the perfect way to attract new customers. There are three main types of online bonuses: the sign-up, the reload and the referral bonus.

Sign-Up Bonus

The sign-up bonus is typically offered to new customers. While some sites offer a straight cash bonus, also known as a no-deposit bonus, most sites prefer to offer a percentage of a new client’s first deposit, for example 50% of a new deposit. If a new customer deposits $100, the site awards a $50 bonus. Some sites even offer a 100% of the initial deposit. Most casinos do directly give away sign-up bonuses in hard cash, but instead offer bonus points, which can only be converted into real money based on how much a player plays at the site. Most sites will not allow withdrawals to be made on bonuses until a player rolls over the bonus at the site. Information about how much a player is required to bet before he can withdraw the bonus will be available on the web site. Ensure that you read all the rules and the fine print and understand about the bonuses the casinos offer. Some casinos give you a casino bonus code that you will have to fill in when claiming your bonus.

Reload Bonus

A reload bonus is offered by a site to the customers every time a player deposits more money into an already active account. Some reload bonuses are available immediately while others are converted into bonus points. Typically, a player is not allowed to withdraw on a reload bonus until he has rolled over the bonus at the site a fixed number of times.

Referral Bonus

Referral bonus is awarded when a player refers or brings along a friend to the site. Usually the friend or the referral has to bet a fixed amount of money before the bonus money can be withdrawn.
